Lessons I Learned in My First Dev Job
Your first job is always special. First company, first colleagues, first late-night bug fixes, these are the moments where your real journey begins. For me, it was the place where I truly stepped into the IT world. That experience was intense, emotional, and unforgettable.
When I joined my first company, I didn't know what to expect. I was excited, nervous, and eager to prove myself. I was fortunate to work with some amazing individuals. There were mentors who guided me, colleagues who eventually became close friends, and a team that, despite challenges, felt like a second family.
Of course, there were tough moments too. Like any workplace, there were situations involving egos, misunderstandings, and internal politics. Navigating that environment while trying to grow was not always easy. I worked hard, sometimes too hard. I often neglected my health and personal well-being, staying up late just to keep learning and proving myself. All I wanted was to improve and be recognized for my efforts.
Eventually, I earned the respect and appreciation I had hoped for. That recognition meant a lot, not just professionally, but personally. It reminded me why I started, and showed me how much I had grown.
